VIDEO & REPORT: Skipper Myers delighted as Valkyries romp to 92-0 win
The Valkyries made a flying start running in two tries in the opening 10 minutes and outpaced the clock in points, leading 32-0 on the half-hour.
They bossed the line-outs with second rows Jess Bray and Lucy Wilding cleaning up with ease.

Hide AdBehind the pack half-backs Cathy-Ann Myers and Charlotte Machon kept up a steady supply of clean ball to a lively back division with wingers JJ Glanvill and Nicole Sedgewick creating real menace on the outside and full-back Mel Halstead’s powerful running creating havoc in the visiting defence.
For such a newly-formed team their play had real shape and structure and obviously all their hard work on the training paddock is paying off.
The one-sided nature of the game was illustrated by the fact that the local girls ran in nine first-half tries to lead 47-0 at the break.
The girls from Teesside stuck to their task and their tackling was a revelation, however it was more of the same in the second 40 minutes with full-back Halstead and back row Bex Carr showing their class.

Hide AdSkipper Myers orchestrated her side’s efforts as they ran in a further seven tries.
Although Acklam spent some time in the home 22 in the final stages of the match, they never quite had the ball retention to seriously trouble a rampant home 15, who ran out 92-0 winners of a very onesided contest.
Although they were never really tested, the old sporting adage that ‘you can only play what is put in front of you’ applied to the Valkyries in this game.
They played with structure, confidence and respect for their opponents and fully deserved their overwhelming 92-0 victory.
