Malton ace Hague bows out in last 32 of English Golf Championships
Hague qualified for the matchplay stages at Ganton after finishing joint 19th in the strokeplay competition on Monday and Tuesday.
The Malton golfer carded a gritty four-over-par 75 on a challenging Ganton course on Monday and then followed it up with a fine two-under-par 70 at South Cliff the following day to earn his place in the final 64 of the championships.

Hide AdHague's round at Ganton had got off to a worrying start as he had a double bogey at the opening hole and a bogey at the second, but he swiftly repaired some of the damage with a birdie at the third, and an eagle three at the ninth completed a level front nine of 36, with five bogies and a birdie at the 14th seeing him finish four-over.
At South Cliff Hague birdied the second and fifth, followed by bogeys at the sixth and 11th, but further birdies at the 12th, 13th, 16th and 18th holes capped a cracking round, in spite of further bogeys at 15 and 17.
On Wednesday Hague took on fellow Yorkshireman Oliver White, from Pannal GC, and claimed a superb 2 & 1 success to move onto the last 32 where he met Isle of Man ace Gandy.
The last 16 will battle it out this afternoon, with the quarter-finals and semi-finals tomorrow and the final on Saturday.
