When the second half began, Boro began to take control of the fixture, roared on by a boisterous visiting support.
Despite playing up the hill, Boro soon had Colne pinned back in their half.

Hide AdAnd they were finally rewarded for their efforts when Walshaw's powered a header onto the bar and Wright poked home the rebound from close range.
Colne almost grabbed an immediate equaliser when Gary Stopforth crept onto a ball into the box, but his deflected effort bounced just wide.
Boro gathered their thoughts and then struck the killer blow.
Walshaw, who had been a constant threat all afternoon, marauded through and lifted delightfully over keeper Hakan Burton and into the net.
