Hide AdAlan Burrows, who has been branch manager at Worksop since 1985, said: “She was so reliable, a very trustworthy person.”
“She had a very bubbly personality and character.”
Her 26 years at the business make her the third longest serving member of staff at the Worksop branch since it opened its doors to the public in 1955.
In recognition of her service, she was presented with a diamond ring by Andrew Cope, managing director of the company, which was established in Nottingham in 1845.
“She had her eye on this particular ring since Christmas and we were going to all buy her something anyway so we clubbed together with the company to get her it,” Alan added.
“Christine has been an asset to the company and will be missed by all the staff and many customers, some of which have become good friends.”
