All you need to know about this year's Scarborough Sparkle at the Open Air Theatre

Festive stalls selling Christmas gifts and food produce will be open for business from 4pm on Friday November 29, followed by the formal event opening at 6pm by the Mayor of the Borough of Scarborough, who will be joined on stage by The Grinch.
The entertainment line-up for Saturday includes the cast of the YMCA’s Jack and the Beanstalk production at 2.30pm, Simply Brass at 4.30pm, Twilight Productions Elf Choir at 5.30pm and singer-songwriter Maisie Atkinson at 6pm. The Christmas feel good factor continues with Carols by Candlelight at 7pm and Village Voices Choir at 7.30pm.

Hide AdNew for this year’s event is a ‘Meet Elsa, Anna and Olaf’ experience where fans will be able to have photos taken with the popular ice queen and friends. There will also be lots of fun for all the family on the ice rink and illuminated fairground rides.
Scarborough Sparkle will open from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, from 11am to 8pm on Saturday and from 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
Entry to the event is free although charges will apply for the illuminated fairground rides and ice skating, which will be £5 per person (including boot hire) for a 20 minutes session on the floodlit synthetic ice rink. Organisers recommend pre-booking to guarantee a skating session by calling Scarborough Open Theatre box office on 01723 818111. Lines are open daily between 11am and 4pm.
A free Scarborough Sparkle White Shoreline Suncruiser bus will be in operation on Saturday and Sunday to take people to the event. It will operate from Eastfield to Peasholm via various locations, including Falsgrave and Scarborough town centre. The timetable is available at discoveryorkshirecoast.com/scarborough-sparkle
