Go yellow and support charity Daffodil appeal
The money raised from the Great Daffodil Appeal will help Marie Curie Nurses care for people with a terminal illness in their own home so they can spend more time with the people they love.
Glynis Francis, a member of the Hackness Ladies Choir, is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. She had the fantastic idea of knitting daffodils to sell and has already had lots of orders in.

“I received great support from members of the Hackness Ladies Choir, some of whom are knitting and others donating the wool.
“Special thanks to Yve, Moira and Karen who have also knitted and sewn them together. They are selling at £3 each.
“If you care to support Marie Curie in this endeavour, please contact me on 01723 882248 to order a pattern.”

Marie Curie is appealing for more people to ‘get behind the daffodil’ just like Glynis, and donate their time to collect at the following locations:
l March 5: Scarborough Street Collection.
l March 11-13: Morrisons.
Jennifer Carmichael, community fundraiser for Marie Curie in North Yorkshire, said: “The Great Daffodil Appeal makes it possible for Marie Curie Nurses to provide free hands-on care for people with a terminal illness.
“Every March, millions of people across the UK show their support for our work by simply giving a donation to wear a daffodil pin. We need as many people as possible to donate their time to help us make sure everyone is wearing one, so we can continue providing this vital care for local people.”
