Brook Square Surgery on Trafalgar Street West held a vaccination clinic over the weekend where patients over 70 were given their first immunisation against the disease.
The majority of mobile over-80s patients at the surgery have already been vaccinated, with those over-80s patients who are housebound beginning to receive their vaccination this week.

More than 350 vaccinations were given over the weekend, and by the end of January the Surgery will have vaccinated all of the care homes that are reliant on the practice.
Ms Lewins continued: "I’d like to give a big thank you to staff that are giving up their weekends to be able to ensure we are vaccinating the community as quickly as possible, and also thank you to the volunteers who are giving up their time as well."
Patients are asked not to contact the practice, and that they will be contacted when it is their turn to be invited for a vaccination.
