Scarborough borough's coronavirus infection rate falls following spike

The borough’s seven day infection rate per 100,000 people is now 49, down from 62 a week ago and 64 on Friday.
Scarborough is now averaging 8 new cases every day, its lowest figure since late September before the second wave of the pandemic hit.

Hide AdThe average infection rate for England stands at 96, down from 130 seven days ago, while North Yorkshire as a whole has now dropped to 69, a reduction of 16 on last Monday.
Three more people died in Scarborough this week within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19, taking the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic in the borough to 195.
Last week it was revealed that more than 38,000 people in Scarborough have now had at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Mobile testing facilities are available in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey this weekend for anyone with symptoms to get tested.
