The Tennyson Arms, on Dean Road, had a reserve price of £200,000 - reduced from £240,000 - but this was not met.
Nick Ward, Auction Specialist for property firm iamsold, said the pub had attracted a good level of interest.

The pub is now up for auction again, with the same reserve price of £200,000.
The auction is due to close on September 3 at noon.
According to its listing on property website Right Move, the pub is a “mock Tudor-style freehold ” which has two bars and comes with a six-bedroom maisonette above.
There is a front bar with fixed perimeter seating as well as a back bar with access to a cellar.
