Film line up for January revealed at Scarborough's Stephen Joseph Theatre

Much of The Runaways was filmed on the North York Moors, and director Richard Heap will be on hand to answer questions from the audience after one of the screenings.

The Runaways: After their home life is turned upside down three children and the family's donkeys escape, confronting both the harsh landscapes and what it means to be siblings. This throwback to classic children's adventure films but with a modern aesthetic was filmed largely across the North York Moors and stars Tara Fitzgerald and Mark Addy.

Ordinary Love: Film critic Mark Kermode gave this drama starring Liam Neeson and Lesley Manville a rare five stars, saying: “There’s nothing ordinary about this deeply moving, frequently funny and piercingly insightful drama… a story of everyday love between two people living in the shadow of grief, facing an uncertain future, both together and apart.”

Cats: Based on the stage musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber (in turn based on TS Eliot’s poems), this new film is directed by Tom Hooper (Les Misérables, The King’s Speech) and stars James Corden, Judi Dench, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift, Rebel Wilson and Francesca Hayward.
